We’re all moved in and ready to serve you! Our brand new City Hall is the first part of the Municipal Facilities campus to be completed and opens today at 1:00 p.m. The friendly folks that look forward to welcoming you include Utility Billing, Permitting, City Clerk, Development Services, Finance, Human Resources and the City Manager’s Office.
The improved layout enhances our ability to deliver a high level of customer service to our residents and visitors, including a centralized service desk area on the first floor. No more having to find your way around upstairs, just to pay a bill or buy a recycling bin. It’s also much more functional for our employees, helping them to be their best and promoting the City as a premier employer and a great place to work. The new building is modern and professional, upscale but not over-the-top.
It remains a construction site, however, as the Civic Center is still to be added on after the former Civic Center with which its footprint slightly overlaps is removed. That won’t happen for another couple of months, since Police and Courts continue to occupy the old building while their new spaces are completed. The entire project will be finished early next summer, at which time the park—and parking lots—will be opened up. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience with all the construction activity.
We’ll celebrate our new City Hall with a ribbon cutting and reception before the December 3 Council meeting. We’ll likewise unveil the Police and Courts building when it opens in January, and then plan a grand opening for the Municipal Facilities campus as a whole when the Civic Center is done next summer. We hope you're as excited as we are. Come on by and let us show you around!
